Christ-Centered Private School Northville, MI
What makes a school excellent? Is it graduation rates and admissions into colleges? Is it the quality of extracurricular activities on and off-campus? Is it overall academic performance among students? Is it championship-caliber athletics? Is it the ability of students to find employment when they depart?
We think a school’s excellence can be measured by the growth of students as people made in the image of God. St. Paul Lutheran School celebrates every time we help a child grow closer to the adult person God created them to be.
We absolutely want to see every student in our school reach new academic heights. Our teachers are committed to helping students master each subject. Knowledge of the world is an important part of well-rounded growth. However, we only truly reach our goals if our students are also growing in their faith and knowledge of God. With such a high bar for success, how can we reach our goals? It is our insistence on being a Christ-centered private school that helps us ensure our students have every opportunity for academic and spiritual growth.
Here is a little more information about what it means for us to be a Christ-centered private school in Northville, MI.
Christ-Centered Private School Northville, MI | St. Paul Lutheran School
What does it mean to be a Christ-centered private School? In each class from the lower to upper grades, Christ is the focus. Each class opens daily with a brief devotion, followed by instruction in Christian doctrine and Biblical study. For the younger students, religious instruction is primarily studying Bible stories and applying lessons from the narratives to everyday life, as well as memorizing Scripture and “memory gems.” For the higher grades, students engage in a systematic study of Christian doctrine, as outlined in Luther’s Small Catechism. When our students are not focused on studying Scripture and theology, teachers approach each subject with a Christian worldview in mind.
Other benefits of Christ-centered education include:
- Teachers as spiritual mentors
- Trustworthy faculty and administrators
- Opportunities to pray during class and throughout the school day
- Scripture-based answers to difficult questions
- A supportive environment for students and parents
St. Paul Lutheran School is excellent because we are Christ-centered. We believe the best way we can help students grow academically and spiritually is to remain committed to glorifying God in everything we do.
